Henry’s Fork Salmon Fly (Foam Dry)
Henry’s Fork Salmon Fly (Foam Dry)
A big, buoyant stonefly dry fly designed to grab attention wherever trout feed. The elk hair wing and bright orange body keep it floating strong in both calm and rough water. Named for Idaho's legendary Henry's Fork — one of the most famous dry fly rivers in the world — this pattern is built for the large stonefly hatches that produce the most explosive surface action of the season.
When to Fish It
Late spring through mid-summer during salmon fly and golden stonefly hatches. Fish it along banks, through riffles, and anywhere large stoneflies are active. The foam body keeps it riding high even in the roughest water. Cast it tight to structure and let it dead-drift through likely holding spots. Sizes 6-8. When the salmon flies are hatching, trout throw all caution to the wind.

Why Anglers Stock This Fly
Salmon fly hatches are the event of the year on many western rivers. Trout that normally hide under banks and refuse everything come out and eat big dry flies with reckless abandon. Having the right pattern in the right size when this hatch comes off is the difference between a legendary day and a missed opportunity. Hand-tied with quality materials by tiers with over 30 years of experience.
