The Chubby Chernobyl is the most fished big dry in the West — a foam attractor with sparkle wings that floats forever and carries any dropper. Hopper, stonefly, cicada, or just lunch: fish don't ask questions.

When to Fish It

All season. Match the stonefly hatches of early summer, bang the banks in hopper season, or use it as your indicator dry year-round. Fish it on medium-heavy tippet with one or two nymphs beneath — the workhorse rig of western guides.
