Slumpbuster Streamer
Slumpbuster Streamer
The Slumpbuster earned its name because it busts slumps — when nothing else is working and you can't buy a fish, the Slumpbuster gets eaten. It's a sculpin and baitfish imitation with a pine squirrel strip body that pushes water and creates a bulky, undulating profile that big trout can't resist. Strip it, swing it, or let it tumble along the bottom like a struggling sculpin.
When to Fish It
Year-round, but especially effective in spring and fall when trout are actively feeding on baitfish and sculpin. Fish it on a sink-tip line with a short, aggressive strip-strip-pause retrieve. Target undercut banks, deep pools, log jams, and structure where big fish hide. Also effective dead-drifted through deep runs where sculpin forage. Size 8.
