A bead-head Hare's Ear with a flash wingcase — the buggiest nymph in the box with a little extra trigger. The flash mimics an emerging nymph's gas bubble and draws fish from farther away.

When to Fish It

All season. Especially good in slightly off-color water and before hatches when nymphs get active. Fish it deep under an indicator or as the heavy fly in a two-nymph rig on light tippet.
