Rivers, Lakes & Seasons
Start with a permanent guide, then check the latest dated information before fishing. A seasonal hatch calendar is a planning tool, not a report that insects are on the water today. Each guide separates those two kinds of information.
Choose your water
- Provo River: choose Middle or Lower. The Middle Provo and Lower Provo have separate reach guides.
- Weber River. Check the specific reach and its conditions.
- Green River below Flaming Gorge. This guide concerns the Utah tailwater and distinguishes spring and fall BWO guidance.
- Strawberry Reservoir. Compare seasonal food and stillwater methods.
- Snake River in Jackson Hole. Use the Wyoming reach guide, keeping it distinct from Idaho’s South Fork Snake.
Read a focused trip lesson
The Middle Provo small-fly guide concentrates on small patterns and presentations. Fall Fly Fishing at Strawberry concentrates on a seasonal reservoir trip. Both link to the permanent destination guide for access and maintenance details.
Check dated conditions
Open the Fishing Report for the interactive overview. Read the observation date and source before treating an item as current. A freshly loaded river gauge does not refresh an older hatch observation.
