The assortment covers all the essentials: a solid mix of hand-tied dry flies, wet flies, nymphs, and streamers in proven, versatile patterns that work across seasons and water types. The included waterproof box is nice to have; it's durable and easily organized with clear compartments, and it keeps everything dry and secure on the water
This fly assortment is outstanding. The patterns are clearly well thought out and truly cover everything, dry flies, nymphs, and streamers that actually produce results. I love that it matches the hatch no matter where you’re fishing, and it’s worked great for trout and panfish. The waterproof fly box is sturdy and keeps everything organized and dry on the water, this kit is incredibly versatile easy to use, and reliable. These flies are built to catch fish, not just look pretty, they absolutely deliver. Highly recommend!
Although I’m a pretty experienced outdoorsman, I am relatively new to the sport of fly fishing. I’m still working on developing my cast and have not yet learned how to tie my own flies. I do know that it’s important to have an assortment of flies that mimics the native insects where you are fishing. So I’ve been on the lookout for an assortment that covered all the bases. I’m glad I got this one.The product arrived well packaged, and in good condition. It came with a durable plastic carrying case. The set included a wide variety of flies, such as nymphs, larvae, and various species of bugs. I was really impressed with how ornate some of them are. This is a pretty big assortment and definitely enough to get you started. The only drawback that I found is that the case is a little bit too large for my fly fishing vest. That said, I see no reason to bring all of these with me and I already have a small magnetic carrying case that fits perfectly into the front pocket. In terms of value, this is a pretty comprehensive set. It came with a nice placard that explained each of the flies. I would have to say it’s quite a bang for your buck.
Alright, long story short. I was tired of burning through cash at my local pro shop every time I snagged a tree branch or lost a rig and needed a reliable backup box that covered the absolute basics without costing a fortune, and I liked the idea of having a "one-and-done" selection for a weekend trip. It seemed like the perfect way to fill out my vest with proven patterns without having to hand-pick every single nymph and dry fly individually. What you get is a really solid mix of twenty-eight different patterns here, ranging from high-floating dry flies to subsurface nymphs and streamers. The entire collection comes housed in a sturdy, double-sided waterproof box that feels tough enough to take a hard drop on the rocks. A nice touch is the laminated ID card included inside, which is super helpful for figuring out exactly what you are looking at on the water. The selection covers all the major food groups for fish, including mayflies, caddis, and midges, so you are prepared for most hatch situations. I took these out to a local creek to chase some trout and was genuinely impressed by the build quality of the ties. Usually, bulk packs like this feature messy glue or hooks that bend out on the first snag, but these held up great against a few feisty browns. The variety is excellent because I could switch from an Elk Hair Caddis on top to a Copper John dropper without digging through other gear or boxes. I also really appreciated that the hooks were sharp right out of the package, which resulted in solid hooksets throughout the afternoon. My only real gripe is that some of the smaller midges in the kit are incredibly tiny and very hard to thread if your eyesight isn't perfect. I also noticed that the foam slits in the box are a bit tight, making it slightly tricky to push the larger streamer hooks in comfortably without jamming them. However, these are minor annoyances compared to the utility of the whole set. All things considered, this set punches way above its weight class regarding value and reliability. It saves you the headache of guessing what to buy and gives you a fighting chance on almost any water you approach. Whether you are teaching a friend to fish or just stocking up for the upcoming season, it is a smart investment that keeps you on the water longer.Bottom Line:If you are looking for a comprehensive solution to fill your fishing vest, this assortment is hard to beat. The waterproof case alone is worth a good chunk of the price, and the flies inside are legitimate patterns that fish actually recognize. You get essential bugs like Adams, Wooly Buggers, and Pheasant Tails that work almost anywhere. It eliminates the guesswork for beginners and serves as a reliable backup for seasoned anglers who need a ready-to-go kit. The construction quality is surprisingly high for a bulk set, meaning you will spend more time fishing and less time re-tying unraveling threads. Excellent 5-star product hands down, highly recommended!Pros:1. Waterproof box keeps everything safe and dry.2. Wide variety covers many different fishing situations.3. Hooks remain sharp after multiple catches.4. Materials hold together well during use.5. Includes helpful card for identifying flies.6. Fits easily in a standard vest pocket.7. Great value compared to buying individually.8. Excellent option for beginners starting out.Cons:1. Foam slits feel tight for large hooks.2. Smallest flies are difficult to thread.
Premium Fly Fishing Kits – 64There are 28 different flies in the kit, most have 2 pcs of the same fly, 4 of the flies each have 4 pcs, totaling 64.I’m yet to begin fly fishing but ordered this fly kit to begin my exploration into the foray of fly fishing. Being a newb, not knowing anything about fly fishing I find these flies are well tied and look like the flies labelled - I did online research to learn about each fly, when and where they are most effective.Just looking at the flies, they all look pretty and can see that it takes a lot of skill to tie these flies. I don’t know how people tie the tiniest of flors like the #20 Midge Black Nymph - I am amazed that there are all hand tied. The fly is so tiny I had to squint to find the hole to thread the line.In testing the quality/sturdiness of the flies I have tugged at the hairs repeatedly (not too hard) and nothing has fallen loose or come apart. I am very happy with this kit of 64 flies averaging $1.25/fly. I can’t wait to put them to use soon, starting with the wooly buggers for bass.
